1979 Indy Pace Car. #7 built of all the PC Replicas. 5.0L /4 speed. Rare factory A/C equipped car. Car served as the airport display vehicle at Indianapolis International Airport during the month of May, 1979. Restored, including new paint and stripes, new interior with correct NOS Recaro seat trim, restored powertrain including original numbers matching engine, restored TRX wheels with fresh TRX tires. Car driven from Michigan to Birmingham in 2009 for Mustang 45th Anniversary celebration and performed flawlessly.
Few of these Pace Cars survive today, and there are very, very few that have been restored to this level. While you may find other Pace Cars with the intention of restoring one, the cost is prohibitive. And, most of the remaining examples of this car have been hacked up into race cars and restomods without their original engines and powertrains, and many times have a lot of the unique Pace Car parts missing or damaged beyond restoration. Many parts for this car have yet to be reproduced, and finding original items for the Pace Car is becoming difficult. These cars continue to disappear quickly, and none have been restored to this condition. Additionally, this car still carries it's original numbers matching engine.
I am asking $20000, but am open to offers. I have over $26000 invested in this car's restoration, and I have the receipts to validate this fact. For what you can buy this one from me for, you can't afford to restore one, trust me, I know. Includes complete ownership history, including original bill of sale, title history, window sticker, build sheet. Consistent show winner. Need to sell as storage space has become an issue, and this is the odd car that has to be sold from my collection.
