This is a 1968 1/2 428 Cobra Jet 4 speed Tasca Coupe, no power steering. This is a very rare Mustang; back in the Early '80s, David Catadi, out in Providence, Rhode Island bought this Cobra Jet and built it to race on the 1/4 mile drag track. David raced the CJ for many years at the New England Race track where it became a well known vintage '68 1/2 Mustang race car. I have pictures of the Mustang on the track with the number on the windshield and actual time slips matching the run down the track. I have positive proof that this Vintage 68 1/2 Tasca CJ car ran a faster time than the 1968 winter national winner Hubert Platt with his SS/E factory prepped Cobra Jet Mustang. This mustang was featured in the magazine Vintage Ford Race Cars of the 1960's. All the metal is original to the mustang except for the passengers fender; the fog lights and grill are original as well. This is a rust free car. I have owned the CJ for three years, in that time I have had the car painted. I pulled the transmission and had it check out, did a major tune up and replaced the carburetor with a Holley 4779. I tuned the CJ up to the original specification's when it was raced down the track; with David Catadi's help and guidance the Mustang is super fast. The engine in the CJ is a special built engine with solid lifters and a lot of special work. The block is not original to the CJ. I do have a January 68, 428 CJ Block and crank that will come with the it. I have only driven the car under 300 miles since the day I bought it. I only drive the car to local mustang car shows with the Mustang Club of Houston. A few weeks back I took the car to a local 1/8th mile race track and ran it for the first time in several years; the car runs and handles great. Please call me so I can fill you in on the history of this very rare Vintage 68 1/2 428 CJ Tasca Mustang. MCA #53240. Visit http://www.fquick.com/videos/Horace's_TASCA_racer_/9922 for more info.
