Trying to help a friend sell his dad's mustang!

Up for sale is a 1965 Ford Mustang engine code "A" with the 289 factory V8 4B carb option. We have owned this car for over 12 years and has never seen the rain or snow while in our possession.

the information that i will provide is the best of our knowledge as we have only had the car for 12 years total so the total past is unknown.

exterior: 8/10
color is black which still shines
there is a little paint peeling on the hood where the word "FORD" is mounted
there is some bubble rust on the rear fenders but nothing horrible. For the age it is pretty impressive.
the chrome has very little pitting and is original
we do know that the hood and drivers side door are not original but everything else is. 
4 BRAND NEW TIRES and FULL SIZE SPARE

interior: 9/10
Red in color. 
split bucket seats up front with the bench in the rear.
there are no tears in the seats and the carpeting is in great condition.
there is an aftermarket radio mounted just behind the shifter with pioneer speakers in the back because the original radio did not work but we wanted to leave it in. 
We are not sure if the TACH works as we have barely driven it over the past 12 years but we just wanted to make sure to inform you of this. 

drivetrain and powertrain: 8/10
**NUMBERS MATCHING**BUILT OUT OF DETROIT MICHIGAN WHERE IT ALL BEGAN**
We were informed by our mechanic awhile back when we purchased it that the VIN matches the body and the engine. also known as a VIN code "A" which was one of the rarest but strongest V8 options at that time. 
it is an automatic- no shifting problems or slippage. drives like a champ.
the engine fires right up and has its oil changed every year even though there are less than 100 miles a year put on the car
the carb was replaced with a holley 650 carb.
the exhaust was swapped out with a straight 2inch stainless steel piping.
the brakes bite a little to the right as soon as you hit them but it does center back out. we have looked into this several times with no resolution. Just takes a little getting used to but is not that big of a deal.


This is a beautiful classic that we are hoping finds a good home. We no longer can keep it or give it the love that it deserves so we are going to part from it. the car was appraised to be right under $20,000 in its current condition, and with a little bit of work could be worth upwards of $30,000 because the numbers are matching.
