The National Head Judges and Judging committee would like to announce to the MCA membership the time and location of the Annual MCA Judges meeting. The meeting this year will be held at the Waldorf, MD Grand National’s host hotel “The Clarion Inn” its phone number is 877-424-6423. The meeting is tentatively planned to start Sunday September 4th, following the awards ceremony and go into the evening. It will re-convene on Monday morning September 5th (Labor Day) at 8:00AM and conclude by no later than 12:00 PM noon local time
The Judging committee and National Head Judges are hoping that by holding the meeting at this date and time there will be greater participation by the general membership as well as the judging community. Another reason for holding it at this time is to hopefully save travel money for the judges and for show attendees who may have wanted to attend a meeting but otherwise could not.
The meeting agenda is to be developed over the next few weeks and the National Head Judges are soliciting the input of judges and members alike for topics for consideration. Topics concerning 1st and 2nd generation cars should be sent to Allen Stewart at his e-mail email@example.com. Topics concerning 3rd through 5th generation and modified cars should be sent to Jim Silverman at his e-mail Mustanggt350@msn.com. Topics concerning Occasional and Daily driven should be sent to the National head judge for your particular generation of car. Be sure the subject line of the e-mail reads “MCA Judges Meeting 2011”.
We as Judging committee and National Head Judges are seeking input from all members of the show community and judging community. We need your input to improve the judging process and procedures. So think about areas of judging that need improvement and take the few minutes to send an e-mail to Allen and Jim, if you cannot send an e-mail then pickup the phone and call. Allen’s phone number is 828-726-0701 and Jim’s phone number is 508-584-8848. Both Allen and Jim are in the Eastern Time Zone and I know would be glad to talk with any MCA member.
By the time you read this article in the “Mustang Times” it will be on the front page of the MCA web site. A link will be in the article to send topics and concerns to the National Head Judges for possible inclusion in the meeting agenda.
