My first car was a 1968 Mustang that I bought in 1986. It was totaled after three days. The first car my wife and I purchased was a 1990 Mustang LX Hatchback with the 5-speed manual. I thought it was one of the most underpowered cars I had ever driven. I needed to downshift from 5th to 3rd to go up some hills!
We had been looking for a car for our daughter's high school graduation. Since our 2007 Chevy Avalanche had recently been totaled, we had a bit of cash and some time to look. We were not impressed with the selection in many places.
My wife visited the "Lemon Lot" on Maxwell AFB, AL. ("Lemon Lot" is the self-sell transportation lot for Air Force "members.") She noticed "Rose" being sold for $9,900 by a Royal Australian Air Force member who was moving back to Australia. We got in it and we were hooked! We purchased Rose on May 31, 2012.
Our AL tag reads "40MSTNG".
I'm also trying to get my wife to agree on purchasing a 50th anniv model.
None, yet. Thinking about changing/adding air scoops, a more functional hood (air flow-wise), hydraulic supports for hood, door decals, caliper covers, body kit?
I believe the tires are lower profile than stock and the rims look to be an upgraded option. I'm still working on researching this.
None, yet. I'm talking with my brother-in-law who owned a 2001 Mustang GT rag top who tweaked it a bit. I know I'll be replacing the "chip" and adjusting the programming. I am also looking at the benefits of modifying the air intake and the exhaust systems. What I would really like is to modify the power plant such that the hood scoop provides functionality!!! Ultimately, I'd like to supercharge the engine and "street mod" the suspension.
It may not increase the performance much but I want this horse to growl with my 2001 Fat Boy!
None that I know of...shocks recently replaced for a tighter ride but I haven't been under it to see.
All stock except for shifter bezel and a billet pedal kit.
