For all those of you who are attending the Asheville 4th of July national show, please be aware that the Biltmore is offering a special rate of $40 per person to tour the house and the grounds. As many of you are coming in early for the show (I see a lot coming in on Sunday-Thursday), that would be a good time to get tickets and see the Biltmore.
The show site is less than 10 miles from the Biltmore. Call 1-866-851-4661 and ask for group code #409.
It takes about 4-5 hours to see the house and the grounds, longer if you do some shopping, visit the winery and have lunch or dinner. Either way, if you have never been to the estate or it has been a long time, now is the time to get the discounted tickets!

For the third consecutive year, Memphis International Raceway will host some of the mid-south’s best Ford racing and car show with the return of the Fun Ford Weekend Series, June 7 & 8.

“The team at Memphis International Raceway are working very hard to put together an outstanding, family-oriented event for the Ford faithful from all over the mid-south area,” says Jeff Lacina, marketing director for the series. “In the previous years, we’ve had racers and car show participants from Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Illinois and of course, Tennessee show up for this event. And now with the Fun Ford Weekend Series in its third year, we expect this to be the largest all-Ford event in the area.”

Complete event details, including admission fees, race classes are listed below. Classes for the All FoMoCo Car Show will be announced very soon.

Special Events
Fun Ford Weekend events are packed full of special awards for the racers, car show participants and even include fun activities for the kids.

Special Racer Awards
Aeromotive Eliminator Award: Racers running the Aeromotive decal are eligible to win a $200 Gift Certificate, courtesy of Aeromotive Fuel Systems.
The racer with the “Best Package” of a combined reaction time and dial-in time for Round 1 in Bracket 1 and Bracket 2, will win the $200 Gift Certificate. If the winning racer is running an Aeromotive Fuel Pump or Regulator (verified by Tech Inspection or a Fun Ford Weekend rep.), they will receive an additional $100 Gift Certificate.
The Aeromotive decal is available at Tech Inspection and MUST BE DISPLAYED on the car before first round of eliminations.

The VMP Superchargers True Street Shootout
“Fun Ford Weekend has a long and storied history with True Street racers,” notes Lacina. “And now with VMP’s support, we’re looking forward to even more growth and participation in this highly-competitive and entertaining race class.”

True Street racers must use cars that are licensed and registered for street use in the owner’s state. To validate their real-world street capabilities, participants are lead on a 30-mile drive before returning to the track to make three back-to-back-to-back passes down the 1/4-mile track. After the three passes are made, E.T.’s will be added up, and then divided by three, establishing an average used to place the drivers. The three run average will be used to determine the winner, runner-up and index winners.

MustangGuys.com Fastest 5.0 Shootout
Once again, Fun Ford Weekend will be offering the grassroots racing enthusiast an award and recognition that can’t be earned anywhere else. MustangGuys.com is changing up the program from 2012 and is sponsoring the “MustangGuys.com Fastest 5.0 Shootout” trophy bracket class at all 12 of the 2013 Fun Ford Weekend events.

The MustangGuys.com Fastest 5.0 Shootout will be won by a 5.0-powered Mustang or Ford vehicle.

The inaugural Fun Ford Weekend at Auto Club Famoso Raceway, May 4-5, left its mark on the Bakersfield area with Ford enthusiasts and participants converging on the historic drag strip known for its nostalgic history in pioneering drag racing as we know it today.

Saturday’s activities on and off the strip gave way to an action-packed all Ford weekend for Central California’s Ford faithful. While the region’s Ford racers battled for the very first Fun Ford Weekend track titles, the West Coast Pro Mod Association and a handful of Nitro Funny Cars entertained the crowd with 5 and 6 second elapsed times.

Fans were able to enjoy the car show in Auto Club Famoso Raceway’s famous “Grove” where the best nostalgia and late model Fords in the area were on display.

All of the excitement carried over into Sunday with another great day for racing and showing cars. The cooler temperatures lowered racers ETs and the slight breeze made another award-winning day in the valley sun more comfortable. However, toward the end of the day the slight breeze changed into a blustery wind that covered the drag strip and show cars with the neighboring field’s dust, causing the final rounds of racing to be postponed until September 14 – 15, 2013.

The 4th of July Asheville National show has 12 spaces remaining before we are sold out. Registration ends on June 1st, 2013. There are some rooms remaining at the host hotel (show site) and the co-host hotel (Sheraton) has ended taking special rates reservations. However, the Sheraton will offer the special rate IF they are not full or have reached 80% capacity. Asheville hotels are generally booked during the 4th of July, so if you are planning on attending the show and have not yet made hotel reservations, now is the time! There is a cluster of hotels about 3 miles from the show (Days in, Homewood, Marriott, Hampton, etc.).

We also would like to let everyone know that the Grey Line Tours, Asheville Brews Cruise and the Asheville Zipline folks are offering discounts on the tours and the zip line. You can visit our website at BRMCOA.ORG and read about each offering and call them direct to book a tour. The Zipline, which is on the host hotel property is requesting that you book NOW. July 4th weekend is very busy for them and with a special rate being offered, they would like for you to book NOW. If you plan to do the zip line and wait until you are here to make a reservation, they may be sold out!
Nothing like zipping over rows of Mustangs!

Again, we have 12 spaces remaining for the Asheville National show as of Monday, May 20th and registration closes on June 1st.

Went to a South Jersey Mustang Club Show today, it was sad to see a once proud club now tows it club trailer with a Dodge truck and gives out awards Made in China. What has happened to American Pride, Ford and Mustang didn't get to where they are today by out sourcing to China neither should a Mustang Club. This is my personal opinion as a proud American, those of you who have seen my car know how I feel about my country and my God. Just had to vent!!
God bless the USA land of the free because of the brave
I've had my 2006 Satin Silver GT since August 24th of 2006 (bought new off a small country dealer lot). 75,000 miles on the clock, and I'm still on the honeymoon!

Hi am new to the forum I have a 2006 v-6 hardtop which I bought new. I want to trade it in on a 2013 or 2014. The problem is I have small dents located on the hood area only I believe the factory hood is aluminum. They look like hail dents but in reality were caused from acorns from a very tall oak tree. The hood paint is not chipped or scratched I don't want to spend a lot of money to fix it since this will be a trade in repair. I have high deductable insurance so that will not work either. Can something like this be fixed with heat and suction or would my whole hood need to be filled and repainted. Any ideas for a low cost way out? Thanks

I am restroring a 1966 convertible with 289 2V that has hang on A/C (probably dealer installed versus factory). I assume that the dealer installation would have also changed the standard fan to a fan clutch and a different number of blades for the fan with A/C. Can anyone tell me the correct configuration and possibly original part numbers for fan, fan clutch and fan spacer?

Would there be any other modifications (radiator, etc)?

Thanks

I went to the Romeo Ford dealership tonight to test drive a Mustang GT... they wouldn't let me because "it puts miles on the car and no one will buy it" and "it's too powerful".

Is this common for Ford dealerships? If so, no wonder it's an all time low for Mustang sales... :(

I went to the Chevy dealership and test drove a V8 Camaro (to make my dad happy). I'd really hate to buy a Camaro because I'm a HUGE Mustang fan, but I won't buy a car I can't drive first. :(
