    Convertible Top Cleaner

I recently purchased a 2006 Mustang GT convertible and need some advice on how to clean & preserve the original Parchment color top. The top material looks like Vinyl but I was told (over the phone) that it was Fabric by my Ford dealer. the Owner's Manual recommends Motorcraft Triple Clean (ZC-13) but it has been discontinued, with no replacement. I was told you shouldn't use vinyl top cleaner on a fabric top. Is the top material vinyl or fabric on these models? What do you recommend I use?
    Thanks,

I have an 2007 GT convertible the a Parchment vinyl top and most 2007's I see have a cloth top. If you're questioning your dealer (I would be) run it by a shop that handles replacements tops and have them take a look. I use Ragg Topp for Vinyl cleaner on mine have been very satisfied with the results.

    Thanks Patsy,
I really expected more reply's on this post and your's has been the only one (so far). I checked with some other Ford dealers in my area and was surprized that none could provide a recommended substitute for the Motorcraft (ZC-13). One dealer checked the owner's manual for a 2011 Shelby convertible & told me it said to "use a high quality cleaner & preservative" on the top but didn't give any recommendation's or mention if the top was cloth or vinyl. I am disappointed that Ford treats this subject so vaguely both in their Sales Brochure's & Owner's Manual's.
You gave some good advice that I didn't think of and I will follow-up on it.
    Thanks again,
    sssnake
