Be careful with running the electric fuel pump dry, that could be a costly experiment.
The fuel is used to cool and lubricate the pump.
Ok today I decided to run my tank as close to empty as possible.
I have a 16 gallon tank.
The car said 5 miles till empty and then I filled up.
The car took 14 gals to fill.
Is there 2 gallons in reserve so when the car says empty you really have 2 gallons left
or should I have my car rechecked. Its a new car 2012 V6.

Yes but its really helpful to know what in reserve for emergency situations as I do a lot of travelling.
SO far no=one has been able to supply an answer.
I may just email FORD directly.
Thanks
I don't know for sure, but I have seen somewhere that the gas tank on the 2011-12 is a saddle tank and that there is a problem when the gas gets low. The gauge will say 1/4 full but the electronic readout says GET GAS NOW. I know that my 2011 says 1/4 but the electronics are telling me that I am about to run out, so I just fill it up. I asked the dealer about a fix and he just kinda blew me off, said there wasn't a fix, but I understand that there is a TSB out on it. Does any gearhead out there have an asnwer?

I posted the whole TSB somewhere under the general topics. I'll see if I can find it.
http://mustangsdaily.com/ go to the site and in the search field put TSB for technical service bulletin and it is the middle one shown, the TSB applies only to the V6 and GT.
Got it.
Now, to see what my dealer will do about it.
Thanks
Doug
