We have already had 2 major events recently at Barber so its time for a change. Weather for April in most parts of the country is tricky to figure out and if location does not have a track then it should not even be considered. Orlando FL would be great but no track I know of. Las Vegas would be my choice and I live in FL so that is way long distance for me but Vegas has it all, good weather in April, has a track, plenty of Hotel rooms, and then there is Vegas itself so I see Vegas a win win all the way. I do have a sleeper location though and that is Austin, TX where they are finishing the F1 track and with Texas being centrally located it could work. Texas BBQ, yum

And yes we could provide all you just said and a TON more, Have a great following and a Great place for MCA to get very High visibility! We had 623 Cars this year at our Regional show, and had to turn some away due to judging time restraints. Ford World Headquarters is such an amazing Venue to hold the show! Please check out some pic of the show on our website from this years show at the Ford WHQ www.mocsem.com

I have attended ALL of the anniversary shows since the 30th in Charlotte including the Ford 100th Celebration and SVT Experience in 2000. Dearborn is where I want the 50th to be. I want to tour the Mustang production line. I want to tour the Romeo plant. I want to drive on the test track.
If you were at the Ford 100th Celebration, you would want to go to Dearborn for Mustang's 50th.

Wink It will be great anywhere

But remember, an event this large will most likely be produced by Ford and as long as they are "ponying up the bucks," it will be at the locale they say. It is after all, the 50th anniversary of their car! Rest assured, everyone has ideas of places they'd love to see, Nashville was perfect for the 40th and could handle it, as could Charlotte, and many love the nostalgia of the NY Worlds Fair area, as it was good enough to introduce the car in the first place! Personally, I love this thread. Many great ideas and thoughts flying around but if Ford produces it... I think everyone will go no matter where! That's my five cents. (see what inflation did to the old two cents worth?)

I like your location of Honolulu-San Antonio-Va Beach... lol Thought I was the only one skipping around from Ft. Laud-Plano TX-Kailua HI except all your locations have Military bases

With all the severe weather lately in the south especially Alabama this should be the main reason for NOT having the 50th anniversary show in Birmingham. I'd rather deal with cooler temps and even a little snow over watching our Mustang's destroyed or risking anyone's life!

On another note, we should all say a prayer for the poeple down south that lost their life and to the ones who lost family in the wake of these severe storms.

I think weather or Mother Nature of some form will be an issue anywhere it's held.

We just held the National show here in DFW area and the weather was fine just windy. Texas Motor speedway is still my choice.

I'm sure Ford will have something for the 50 lots of debate to where it will be. How about 50 shows? one in each State at the State's Capital? That could help on the travel and imagine the press! Not sure about the judging but thought it would be a cool idea. It's just that an idea.

Terrible scenes out of Alabama and the other five states affected by the storms. My thoughts and prayers go out to the residents and anyone that has friends or family members affected.

I agree that the weather is next to impossible to predict when planning an event of this magnitude so far in advance and shouldn't be the deciding factor one way or another. Case in point, Dearborn residents actually woke up to a few inches of snow on the ground last week on April 18th.

We were fortunate with the weather for the 40th and 45th Anniversary shows... IIRC the 30th and 35th Anniversary shows both had to work around rain/thunderstorms. Hopefully our good fortune continues with the 50th!

I can just the imagine the travel plans I would need to make to judge 50 shows, it's hard enough to coordinate 5 shows a year, with hotel, flights and rental cars.
