Except that in April, in Dearborn, the average high temperature is 60 deg, the average low temperature is 37 deg, and the average mean temperature is 48 degrees. Too cold!
I disagree, Yes if it was in Dearborn we have all kinds of road courses and drag strips, and also the Ford Proving Grounds and Test Tracks, that we would have access to, along with the automotive Hall of Fame, Henry Ford Museum, Woodward for Cruising, and a tour of the Flat Rock plant where the Mustangs are Being built today. I can go on all day long with advantages and amazing events we could provide.

Birmingham- Average low in April, 50 degrees. Average high in April, 75 degrees. Barber Motorsports Park is a fantastic venue. I was involved with the planning for both events at Barber. The 50th will bring 4000 + Mustangs. Space may be an issue at Barber.

Something to add.....Wherever the event is held, I would love to see the event last at least 5 or 6 days. This is likely to be the largest gathering of Mustang enthusiast ever.
At the 45th, there was plenty of Space. with a lot to spare. The only problem I saw at the 45th was that people were bringing there Cars into the show area on Trailers and takeing their sweet a$$ time unloading and then leaving the Truck & Trailer there while they detail their Mustang. Trailered Vehicles should be off Loaded and driven into the Show area and Parked.
Also, Birmingham is in a good location. Over the last few Years, I have been reading a lot of Crime Reports in Dearborn and Detroit areas that I will not go there.

...and lets not forget that Forbes, CNN, and Time rate the Detroit metro area (which Dearborn is a part) as the most dangerous area (for crime) in the United States.
Dearborn......No thank you!

why have it the same place as before?
Because as I have stated before......... GREAT Area, GREAT Track, GREAT Parking, and it can hold many many many Cars. plus there are a lot of Hotels and they just built a new Hotel by the Track. Birmingham is in a great location Map wise.
If they are expacting 5000 Mustangs then you have to think about space to park those 5000 Mustangs PLUS many Trucks with Trailers, many Chase Cars, many many Spectator Vehicles, the many Vedors with Semi's, the Many Vedors with Trailers, is there enough Hotels in the area, is there enough Restaurants in the area, can the City handle all of the Vehicles and people, ETC ETC Etc..............Birmingham can and has.

As Randy said,, 4000-5000 cars at Barber would be tough to handle. I worked that event,, it was fun and I liked it "Close to Home" BUT____ ! Just hope it's not a 2 day drive !
While I had a great time at Barber for the 45th, in all fairness there are other, equally nice facilities. On the east coast, there's Road Atlanta and VIR. On the west coast there's Laguna Seca. The middle part of the country has Mid-Ohio and Road America, but again the major issue is that it's *cold* in April at both of those places. All of those tracks have hosted huge road racing events and/or vintage festivals and have top-notch facilities (although nobody but Barber has giant insect sculptures).
