We went to the 100 year celebration in Dearborn and it was awesome!

This is what we are hearing on the west coast.. The MCA wants to have the 50th in Orlando, and Ford wants it in Dearborn. To the powers that be that run the MCA this is nothing new, they do this all the time. West coasters have not alot to say about the location, but and I am a bit bias because its close to where I live but... If it is indeed going to be in April then Las Vegas is the absolute best place to have it. The weather is perfect, the race track is there, plenty of lodging, etc etc etc... Have you ever been to a Nascar event up there? They shut the strip down for the haulers coming into town and now even the Awards banquet is in Vegas, why? Because Vegas does things the right way... PERIOD. If its not in Michigan at World Headquarters then I vote Vegas. The old Guard at MCA better listen up to people west of the Mississippi.....

LOL is right. I have been to Minot and although that would be a big boost for the economy I am not sure they would have enough hotel/motel space for everyone.

I still vote for Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham Alabama. I know it can handle it. I just wish they would decide soon on the Place and the Dates so I can start making plans NOW as with this economy I need to know what it will cost me.

Steve Ling, Ford's North American Car Marketing Manager, attended the Regional Directors Summit a couple weeks ago and talked about the 50th. While the MCA and others have been asked for input, this will be a Ford decision. The process for deciding has not begun and probably will not until next year. Anything else anyone has heard are strictly opinions or rumors. Whatever Ford decides to do, it will be first class and memorable. If you've ever attended anything these guys put on you'll know what I mean. Just ask anyone who has attended Mustang Alley at the Woodward Dream Cruise. They don't just know what enthusiasts like, they ARE enthusiasts.

Just lets us know with plenty of advance notice !!!!!

While I am also an east of the Mississippi resident, I honestly do not care where the show is. I will go wherever to attend an event as memoriable as this. I only ask of Ford, MCA and any other entities involved in the final decision to give us significant advance notice. Some of us need to closely look at our finances and scrape whatever monies we can over a long enough period to attend. While all of the details may not be worked out at the time of any announcement a location could hopefully be agreed upon. I will not resurface the many comments that have been raised throughout this thread, just please don't forget that the people who enjoy these automobiles have been hit hard by the economic conditions and have to make some sacrifices to attend this historic event.
