QUEENS NY...site of the 1964 World's Fair!
I have been to an MCA Show in Tennessee at the Nashville Motor Speedway. Great Track but the fact that the closest Hotel was 40 Miles away really sucked. I have been to an MCA & SAAC Events at the Lowes Motor Speedway in Concord North Carolina It's alright to. BUT< I feel that the Event should be as close to the Middle of the USA but more towards the East because the WEST have many many Events sponsored by Ford, SAAC and SAI annually.
1. Sweater. maby a blanket for your mustang, and a space heater
2. Security. Not to expensive to hire police officers, they did it at VA Beach Nats for evening security.
Personally though, I think we should have it somewhere completely random, like DISNEY or branson MI, I mean Why the hell not?

Even though Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham Alabama is a excellent facility it isn't convenient for everyone. A lot of us in New England feel left out when it comes to national or anniversary shows because they almost always happen in the south. I wanted to go to the last 2 anniversary shows but didn't feel a 14 + hr ride was worth it. I understand that Dearborn in April is iffy on the weather side and it may not be the best (safest) location but it is the birthplace of the Mustang. For once I'd like to see M.C.A. have a anniversary show that is more convenient to us northern members.
If the event is held in Dearborn, we will not be attending. While I'd love to see The Motor City (even with it's attendant issues) driving to Michigan in April, over the Rockies and through the northern tier states, ain't happening in any of my Mustangs in the early spring. If it is held in Birmingham (yes please) we will be driving south and across the southern states to B-ham. If Ford and MCA want the biggest turnout possible, keep it in a warm weather area.
From the Detroit News today:
Add Jesse Jackson’s ride to prominent vehicles being stripped in Detroit.
Following the embarrassing news that Mayor Dave Bing’s GMC Yukon was hijacked by criminals this week, Detroit’s Channel 7 reports that the Reverend’s Caddy Escalade SUV was stolen and stripped of its wheels while he was in town last weekend with the UAW’s militant President Bob King leading the “Jobs, Justice, and Peace” march promoting government-funded green jobs.
Read that again: Jackson’s Caddy SUV was stripped while he was in town promoting green jobs.
