    MCA Support of National Shows

Its been brought to my attention that my comments in the June Mustang Times concerning MCA having a presence at a number of Non-MCA events, some of which are occurring at the same time as National and Grand National shows, would indicate that MCA is supporting non-MCA events over National Shows. I apologize if that was the inference that some took but nothing could be further from the truth. MCA has always been committed to supporting it's National Shows and the Regional Clubs that host them 100%, but at the same time being visible at other events is very important also. We have no control over what event an MCA sponsor or any of the numerous vendors that attend National shows may choose to attend. We encourage them to attend our National events but the choice is theirs. As for our presence at non-MCA events, that is being covered by Regional clubs in the areas of these events and members of the BODs that are on the committees assigned to setup the presense. These are primarily the membership and marketing committees. These committees will also have a defined presence at the National Shows. Hope this clears up any misunderstandings about what we are trying to accomplish.

Steve I think having a presence at non-mca events is great! We need to have our membership going up in numbers not staying the same or going down. I thought it was a great way for more mustang owners to learn about MCA. I hope we are also pushing for young members, military members, and student members at these events as well. Its a great way to market MCA! Thanks!

Steve, Thanks for the clarification. For those of us working to put on National and Grand National shows for the MCA it is good to know that MCA does not have divided attention and is still focused on its current members rather than recruitment efforts at non-MCA events. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the Carlisle show for three days and spent some time with Patsy and Shorty in the MCA tent. I think these membership drives are a good idea and should continue.
I'm sure MCA has already considered a review of its show schedule to avoid conflicts with major shows in the future ....like the Sturgis Rally and the Grand National in DC. Thanks again!
