Queston on a mistory part off my 66 Mustang

I will try to describe this part so you can identify it for me, I need help.
I have found a long tube (line) like that came off my 66 mustang but I don't remember what it was used for. I know I should have labeled them all an I would not have this problem, sorry.

It is not a break line or gas line, they have all been identified with the new ones ordered. This line is about 3/8 " in diameter and 6 ' long with an u shape at one end. It has mail fittings on each end like used with the break and gas lines but larger. This line has spring like wrappings at each end about 12" long similar to the ones on the emergency break lines.

I can't find a use for this line, any help will be appreciated. I will probably feel very stupid when you tell me what it is for.
