    Old Person needs explanation....

I don't twitter, or tweet, or do facebook, have hard time doing a "face to face" with the daughter on my I phone, so could someone explain the purpose or benefits of becoming or accepting a "friend" request on the MCA site or other sites.

    Thanks a Kentucky old fart.

Forum friends on sites like the MCA site do nothing except allow people to see who you are friends with if someone views your profile. On any social media site like FaceBook by accepting a friend request you allow any post you make on your facebook page to be shown on a friends page so not only will they see them but everyone of their friends will see them as well.

This is kind of a sterile technical response ! The purpose of sending a friendship request is really about wanting to become friends with someone who might have similar interests ! I sent this friendship response to kcode as I was admiring kcodes' Hipo. I have owned 3 1965 Hipos and my brother currently owns a gorgeous 1965 2+2 GT Hipo.

I have made many good friends on the Mustang sites I'm on and some of them started with friendship requests. Attached are a couple pics of my brothers Hipo :

Nice car. Sorry if you thought my response was sterile. I too have made good friends with a request but more often than not I get a request and it does not go any further than that. Depends on the situation I guess.

Thanks for the explanation, I just never understood the meaning of it or what value it was.

Threestang, I appreciate the compliments. I have owned my K car since 1972, a good friend bought it new in late 64 and I got it from him. So, its history is known very well. Looks like you have a pretty nice stable of Mustangs around you.

Thanks for the expanding on your thoughts ! I was probably a little crabby at the end of a long work week and I should have been more tactful with my comments

Thanks ! My 1989 has been in the family since new. Between my older brother and myself we have owned close to 25 Mustangs and Hi perf Fords. Probably the most notable were the following: '69 GT-350, '67 Cougar with factory 427, '70 Cougar Eliminator, '70 Ranchero with Boss 351(not factory) and half a dozen '65 Hipos. We currently own 7 Mustangs so I guess it runs in the family !
