    The State of Virginia does not allow the carrier (insurance company) to file rates that include a car club discount under any collector/classic car program. Each state has its own laws and regulations regarding insurance filings.

    I'll have to see if I can find the Commonwealth of VA code section that deals with that and organize a letter writing campaign. Sounds like a stupid, anti-consumer law that needs repealing.

    I've made contact with someone from Heacock. They are working the issue with VA from their end and will keep me in the loop in case "outside" help is needed. They are cautiously optimistic. I do know that other clubs (like the University of VA alumni association) get discounts on their car insurance so there is a precedent.
