NOT ALWAYS. There are often topics that list a response box...BUT NO QUESTION is presented thus you cannot post.

I wanted to post a Thank You to Ron Bramlett for his update. While "comments" seem to be allowed under Ron's July update, a comment section appears after his post) you never get a dialogue box with the "Ford" question thus no posting allowable.

That is exactly the case under membership incentives. (Which is spelled incorrectly in the thread, by the way). I can't post because those options are not there.
My comment was that I have been a member for many, many years and not once has a regional club or director contacted me. You would think they would want me as a member.
And, of course, I had problems posting this. I could not without hitting reply. Reply is not listed on many threads but add comment is.

    This system does not work.

    Won't someone fix it?

Stan if you are having specific issues in an area of the website send an email to admin@mustang.org with the specific link to the page you are having problems and a description of the problem you are having. Some of this appears to be browser related so I need browser version details as well to investigate as some people have the problems while others do not.

Also the challenge question is there to prevent spammers on the site which we have had problems with in the past.

Regarding your comment on planning for meetings in the next year this is just my personal experience but I have had no issues with planning to attend the BOD meetings based on the way it is managed today. Most people can make most meetings. Occasionally people have conflicts but everyone is very understanding if you have to miss one.

I use Firefox on a MAC. I see the reply on some threads and not on others.

Call me funny, but before making any commitment, I like to know places, days and times.

My life is too busy to not have that kind of information up front. It is my opinion that by making that information known ahead of time, more people would consider running for the board. I can't take off just anytime I want. I have to make plans in advance. And I am not the kind of person to make a commitment and not honor it.

I won't run for office if I can't make the meetings. But as it is, the way I understand it, the meeting dates are not set in stone until after elections. Approximate dates and times are, again in my opinion, not enough for most people to make commitments and to plan days off from work. Many people I know must make plans to be off a year in advance. That is the economy we are living in. Most also would not risk losing their jobs to take time off.

I also don't know why some meetings can't be online or by SKYPE. I have been a member of other national organizations. They have regional meetings once a year and a national once a year. Other meetings are online. Email is a wonderful thing. It is not necessary, again in my opinion, to meet four or six times a year in person.

These are just my suggestions for ways to get more people involved.

Stan, the MCA requires that regional clubs submit membership lists, including those who are NOT MCA members. The MCA does NOT reciprocate and share it's membership list with regional clubs. Of course a regional club would love to have you as a member, they just don't know who you are.

    OK, dumb question then.

Why don't you reciprocate and tell them who lives in their geographic area who is a club member?

I can see no harm in doing that. And I would think it would benefit those clubs.

How do I know what clubs are closest to me?

I'm in the almost exact center of Kentucky. Lexington is an hour and a half away.

I wish we had a Mustang club here. I have been a member of an all-makes club for 26 years.

That's my point. I'm on the board of a regional club. We have asked MCA to do that and they have declined to do so.

Stan for the last 3 years, 3 out of the 4 meetings have been held in the Dallas / Fort worth, Texas metro area. The dates for these 3 meetings are typically the second Saturday for the April and July meetings and the second Sunday for the October meeting because the Regional Directors Summit is on the Second Saturday. MCA makes the arrangements so you can fly in attended the meeting and fly out and never have to rent a car, all transportation for those who choose to use is provided by the hotel shuttle that MCA works with.

The January Meeting has been for the last 3 years held in Phoenix, AZ in conjunction with the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction. The meeting is on the last Sunday of the Auction with the annual new directors installation dinner held on Friday evening before the Board meeting.

The meeting times are scheduled from 9:00AM to 3:00PM and we have for the last couple of years completing the meeting agenda in the allotted time.

The sitting board currently has no intentions of changing the meeting structure in the near term. Dallas/Fort worth airport is relatively central to the country as far as air-travel is concerned.

As far as airfare being too expensive, I have found in my own experience that I if I can book ahead of time by at least 3 weeks airfare dollar wise and time wise is cheaper than driving from most any part of the country.
