If there was one show it would be more central in the US so for those who say they wouldnt drive all the way to Charlotte or Vegas because they live on the other side of the nation is not exactly correct, IMO. They need a central place in the US.

Also Like I said before, they will alienate families who cant afford to take their kids out of school or how about those in college???? Who can afford to take 2 weeks out of school?? Summer Dearborn Ford World Headquarters just like the 100 year Celebration.... WE all meet all those from all over the world, all the vendors in one place.... Peace....

One show in the past has worked well, quite well in fact. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Anyone ever heard that?
    1-1-1.
I do agree, though, that one show could be in the central part of the United States. There are plenty of places where it could be held. I, however, also agree that Ford World Headquarters would be a good place though some don't want to go to Detroit. I was at the Ford 100th. It was awesome.
I am still being told that my answer to the random question was incorrect yet I was never asked a question. Can't someone fix this?

I wonder if Ford Motor Company even realized this before the put their support behind this event!

even Nascar takes that week off out of respect
It's just bad timing that the Mustang's birthday falls on religious holidays.

Stan, the workaround to get past the random question is to post as a reply rather than just a general post. The sad thing is that I found this information out on another forum and was ignored by the MCA when I made an inquiry about this.

Sounds like the club ignores most of its members' comments. So, so sad.

    1-1-1.

Remember folks--and I'm upset as anyone...the MCA Board voted on this....they are discussing it...the Board meets again in July I believe...as a "group" they really can't say much until they meet and come up with a plan, be it digging in or reversing course etc. Until the group meets i do not see a Board member going rogue and speaking out and they shouldn't.

    Why stop at two shows?

Why not add a third show in the central USA. They DO NOT have to be on the same weekend. Some people need to get off their high horse and be a little more open minded and not be dead set on April 17th. Sure it would be great to have ONE big show that everyone will drive to but that is not realistic. My guess is if there were three shows a lot of people would do the closest two shows and some would do all three and more than likely the attendance at each event would be more than 1/3 of one big show.

Just my two cents. There will be other big shows that year (Silver Springs, Knott's Berry, Carlisle, Sturgis) so as much as MCA would like to think they have corned the market on Mustang shows there are other options - just maybe not in April.

    1-1-1

(Had to use the "Reply" option to get around the incorrect answer problem)

A decision was made. That is always the difficult part. You have to have a starting point. Once a decision is made, you still have to step back and evaluate the possible outcomes of the decision. You need to take this critical step before you allocate any of your resources.

In this instance, you will be splitting your assets and your resources. In these days of constrained resources, what is the dollar cost of this decision and can the MCA (and us the members) afford the projected costs?

You will either have to half your capabilities at each location or double the amount required supporting both locations.

You can always use the old military way of building Pro's and Con's for either decision.

I vote the 1-1-1 option. This allows everyone to focus on a single event at a single location, participants and sponsors alike. This is the half-century celebration, a monumental milestone in the history of the Mustang. Let's not cut it in half by splitting the event to 2 locations on the same date.

Someone else recommended if you want to stick to the 2-Event idea, make them a week apart and sponsor the drive between the locations to highlight the world-wide participation of the event.
