Voted no. However, I support Steve and our MCA leadership. Which shows we attend is a personal choice based on--money, time, and interest.

I think this comes down to: Do you want to have one big show with all the major players (Ford, Shelby, Roush, MRT, Saleen, etc) or do you want two shows where it may be easier to drive to the show (because it's closer), but you will only see half the cars, half the vendors, half the attractions, etc?

I know from our club's experience with the 2011 Grand National that conflicted with the Sturgis Mustang Show - vendors can only directly support one show at a time.

2 Shows?, not a good idea!

Why are we voting, MCA is going to do what they want. This is already decided! You can see that with the rule changes for 2013! When you don't listen to your customers, you loose your customers. When you divide your forces, you can loose the battle!

I want to thank President Prewitt for returning my e mail so quickly, I appreciate that and I understand why they went in this direction but it's sitting well at all. I know folks who cant go far wont be able to attend due to health or money or what ever but this is the 50th..

Quote From a very strong Mustang Man who start up the Rocky Mountain Round Up...

"Curious! I did the Corvette 50th in 2003, it was hosted by GM/Chevrolet corporate(no clubs or assiciations were involved). The site was Bowling Green KY where the plant and museum are located and Nashvilles Titan Stadium for the ZZTOP concert. Absolutly well done, it was said the 50K people and 15 to 20K Corvettes were there. I drove my Corvette 1600 miles each way, the Caravan was awsome and well organized.

My point is, where does Ford corporate stand in all of this? I find the MCA to be self-serving, but optimistic they will get the job done. No matter where it is, or who does it, I will be there. If asked to help I will. A lot of work will go into this event, money will be spent by someone. I will not stand on the sidelines and complain, I will have fun."

    A very positive attitude...

    You need to pay attention....

For one, the BOD decided to restrict participation in judged national level shows to MCA members only. In the case of the 2012 Grand National this would have cost the organizing club close to $8000 in revenue. The MCA board said this was a vote of club reps, not the board (which by the way is a BIG COP OUT). IN the case of our club many of our members have decided to leave MCA when their memberships expire, including our club president, because we realize that the only way MCA will listen is when they realize they are losing members. In addition the MCA response has been defensive at best, but their actions have indicated that they don't care what the members think.

In addition, they have removed posts from this forum that were contrary to their position, or that were critical of their decisions....

This poll will only reinforce the MCA's position on the split 50th. Right now the count is 63% in favor....is there really outrage when nearly 2/3 of the members support the decision?

Who knows really, because the percentage of members who frequent this forum is a very small percentage of the membership. Plus most people who are members really don't care about this kind of stuff...until it affects them.
