They may not make the popular decision every time but they all try to do their best for the club AND its members. I for one like the 2 show plan, though maybe having it on different weekends would be better. Living in New England would make it tough to go to a show in the middle of the country or on the west coast.

As for you club's plans to quit M.C.A. when your membership expires, if you're that unhappy then the childish thing to do is quit. If you really want to be an adult about this then get involved and run for office in M.C.A.!! Being a former B.O.D. of the Mustang Car Club of New England and many local/regional car shows I have found that there are a lot of belly-achers but not many who want to get involved.
Once again a member is attacked because they dare express an opinion. Exactly why is expressing an opinion "out of line"? The Board is elected to represent the membership and vote on issues. When the Board ceases to represent the membership, then why is it "out of line" to express an opinion contrary to the Board? Additionally, since MCA does not release comprehensive meeting minutes that list exactly how each Board member voted on each issue, it's impossible to ascertain which Board members actually represent your views.
Then the cry comes up "if you don't like it, then run for the Board" Easy to say, but harder to do. With the current setup of face-to-face Board meetings, you need to have both time and money to be on the Board (or have an automotive-related business so you can write off the travel expenses). As others have stated, in this day and age, it is unneccesary to have face-to-face meetings. Telecons could be substituted and allow more people to run for the Board.
