I drive my 71 drop top all over our country.

People ddon't understand why I pull the coil wire and put a steering lock on when I am in a strange area.

I like it when people see me do these actions. Possibly the thief may be in that crowd and move to an easy steal.

In 2004, my 1990 Mustang LX 5.0 coupe was stolen. It was truly an ill feeling. The police found it the next day on the side of the freeway with the locks popped and the AOD transmission destroyed. We never found the driveshaft. I bought the car back from the insurance company as salvage and sold it to a Mustang friend who repaired it. Incidently, I pulled the coil wire on my low-mileage 1993 Mustang GT convertible that I also own.

Instead of buying another Mustang right away, I decided to turn this little tragedy into something good, so I bought a small house with a garage. I had enough money left over to buy a restorable 1979 Mustang Pace Car, which I finished in 2010. Today, my 1979 and 1993 Mustangs reside comfortably in a locked garage. I didn't actually plan it this way, but I now have "book-end Foxes" (first and last years of Fox Mustang production).
