Buying a 1966 Mustang coupe
Hello my name is Mike, I have a view questions about buying a 1966 Mustang coupe. First, The car is owned by my older brother, he has a 302 engine and tranny for it. All the cosemetic parts are there. The things it needs; New floor pan(May not need a Complete floor pan, just right side,) Would it be better to get a complete floor pan instead of a section? Needs to be re-painted, not for sure. Needs new window sealant. It might need a few other things but I don't know yet. He wants to sell me this car for $2,000. Should I Buy it???

The answer depends on whether you want to have a future relationship with your brother. Ask yourself, when was the last time your big brother did something for you where there wasn't something in it for him? Sibling humor.
Seriously, you give us little information to work with here. The correct answer really depends on your abilities and budget. I would estimate that you would need to invest another $2k - $8k to make a decent driver out of what you've described. A lot of the cash investment depends upon how much of your own work and time you can invest versus farming it out to someone else.

Ok, my dad owns his highschool car, a 65 coupe. If I need parts I can most likely get it from that car. Yes, its a parts car. Also, this summer I will make around $5,000- $6,000. Money shouldn't be a problem. I'm really just wondering if it would be a smart buy for a first vehicle, or just buy a non-project mustang.
