Seriously, this could be a great way to communicate with the membership quickly.

I appreciate the time that you spent responding to this thread and the time and money you spend on being on the board. I truly mean that, it takes alot of time to commit to clubs especially on a national level.

"But after talking to hundreds of enthusiasts, Mustang related businesses and Mustang clubs and their members for almost an entire year,"

Ok then why not put a feeler out in the Times or post something up on the forum and ask for membership input???
Tell the membership whats going on in stead of keeping them in the dark. You might be surprised, at what you might find hidden amongst the many members.

I'm writing this a we just returned home from the Route 66 Car Show in Flagstaff, FANTASTIC SHOW! 450+ Cars and trucks, 80ish of them Stangs, thats a great ratio!

I only found 2 MCA Members one was me.......

    Its kind of sad...
So be part of the solution instead of raining on the parade. Take some MCA brochures with you and pass them out to other Mustang owners. Get involved with your local MCA chapter. Get your chapter motivated to have a presence at area shows to promote your chapter and MCA. If you don't have a nearby chapter, start one!

I have been in MCA for 23 years. The club has continuously improved. I participated at the 30th and 35th MCA events and the 40th and 45th Mustang Anniversary Events.

The magnitude of these events is amazing. How they are put on so efficiently is quite impressive. They deal with tens of thousands of attendees. It is not feasible for a show of this magnitude to be determined by popular opinion. There are just too many logistics to coordinate and figure out. If popular opinion was involved it should have started about 5 years ago and there would still be disagreement and the show would never happen.

We have a BOD, they put together a committee (which is open to ANY MEMBER) and complete their task.

To those that have put on past events and the upcoming 50th--A HUGE THANK YOU!!! And I will see you in Charlotte.

Tom, I am part of one of 2 MCA affiliate clubs in AZ. Raining? I care about the MCA, if I didn't then I wouldn't be on here expressing a view that is not popular with some on the Board. I have been the President of my club and I was the Co Chair of the last MCA National Show held in Az. My only real credential is that I love the Ford Mustang and what it has brought to me and my family. So many friends and so many good times. I feel that some of the decisions that the board has made, without consulting the membership that is, has fractured our community and I am going to speak up.

Because I dont agree with 2 decisions that the board has made that makes me disgruntled or other names tagged to me and others here who dont agree with the board. That is the first thing that people tell me when I mention the MCA.. "They Dont Listen to the Members", "We gave up on the MCA a long time ago" etc etc.

    Read through this thread..

The Mustang 50th Anniversary is the biggest most historic event to date besides the birth of the car itself. I am very passionate about this because I feel, like many others that "WE" should not be split on this day. "WE" should be all together and "We" all Members of the MCA should have a voice. I feel that the BOD's, who is the voice but you cannot hear when you dont listen, or worse yet dont ask.

Yes I care deeply about the MCA but frankly I dont get that same feeling in return. I'm not going to quit or go quietly into the night but I will vote my heart and my passion.

The Mustang is more than a car to me and my family, not trophies, unless you call all of the friendships awards because thats whats important...
