Nice Job Steve on getting her an award! Good Show Sir!

So let me get this straight, to get one of the MCA "Specia Notedl Awards" your car has to win an award at a 2012/13 National MCA sanctioned show. So those MCA Members who cant go to one or dont win one are left out?
    Really Guys???

Just a suggestion, if your going to keep track of the car that wins an award in 12/13 for the 50th Celebration, why not make it extra personable and put thier name or MCA number on it? Just a thought...

MCA realizes that while no judging at the 50th celebration is disappointing to many, it is the reality of the huge logistical effort in attempting to judge such a large number of entries. The compromise of pre-judging the entries was felt to be better than no judging or limiting the participation in judging to a more manageable number.

This was thought to be the best compromise by the planning committee which would give recognition to those cars that had earned an award in actual judged competition. While at the same time allow all of our Volunteer judges the opportunity to be able to enjoy the celebration like everyone else.

Our volunteer judges and those who work behind the scenes at classification, registration and in the tally room should all have the opportunity to enjoy the whole celebration. These individuals deserve a break and should be able to participate in whatever parts of the event they want to, just like any other participant.

MCA offers this as a compromise to enable those who desire a judged award from the 50th while at the same time allowing greater participation by all.

I agree about letting the judges enjoy the celebration to the full extent and not have to worry about judging cars.

About the MCA Members that cannot go to a National show in 12/13? Is there a way to show an MCA Member that attends the 50th a bit more special then a non Member?

I think being a Member is very important and I know there will be non members attending, so maybe get the word out that something likke this is being planned? Might just see a bump in membership over the next year and half?

Then why give any special awards at all? Since MCA members are the only ones to whom this pre-judging is available--more specifically those who are able to attend a show next year--you're choosing to exclude potentially thousands who may be disappointed to learn that those special participant awards were not available to them. Shorty, you may find yourself spending most of the 50th explaining this to people. But on the bright side, this might lighten the load on the membership folks.

This is just one reason I will be attending the Ford event and not any of the MCA events.

I was at the 45th, Parked in the Paved Parking Lot in front of the Track. My Car was Judged, if you can call it Judging. I did not win and I did NOT get a Participation Award. I paid the extra Money to be Judged and the Two Guys spent maybe 90 Seconds, if that, looking at my Car, it was a 2005 Model. The only thing they found was a small Leaf, a VERY SMALL Leaf, had gotten between the Tail Light and Body, and they had to look way down below the Wires to see it. I know this because I was with them the whole time they "JUDGED" it. All that Said, what did the "Participation Award" look like because I don't know anyone who got one.

My car was in the judged section as well. Though I didn't expect to win everything. For me, it was about the experience. Plus I worked two days parking people. The participants' award, at least mine, was in my 45th Anniversary gift box I got when I entered the show/display field. It was a black plaque with a logo and place for a picture to be inserted. It did come with a picture of a 4x6 2010 GT500 (I think).
