You have done an incredible job fixing that mustang up. It looks really good.
Hey MCA, My name is Brandon R. from Tyler, TX. I have been building my 1970 mustang coupe for the past 4-5 years now. I am a CORVETTE and CHEVY GUY! But I LOVE the 1969-1970 mustangs! So I bought a "carport find" 1970 ex drag car back in 2009. It was a blown 390-428 with a C6, but had been retired for years and was left sitting under a carport with other mustangs. I am not building the typical 289/C4 mustang with flowmasters, worn paint and interior with boring wheels. Now nothing is wrong with that but I see those cars everyday. I want something that will actually make your draw drop. So I am rebuilding my car to look factory correct without being correct at all. It will be a "screamer in pajamas!" I have modified just about every inch of inch of the car and I am really restoring my car thoroughly! When I am done, IF that ever happens, it will not only be beautiful, loud, highly detailed, but also extremely fast! I plan to put a 428 in it with Hooker Super Competitions long tube headers, X-pipe, dual electric cut outs, Magnaflows, solid cam, lots of other goodies. This is my first Mustang, and so far this car is really cool and even cooler every time I make progress on it. I will do a Dakota Digittal dash, tilt column, Vintage Air (my car is an AC car), nice Kicker sound system ( even though the REAL sound system is the 428), Snake-Oyl seat belts, REAL teak panels, LOTS of discreet modifications, etc. My car will fool a lot of people, including mustang guys. I am not going to give away ALL of my "secrets" about this car just yet, but when it gets done it should have somewhere between 500-700 HP. I am going to install a Tremec TKO600. I will try to include some photos. Let me know if you guys/gals like my progress. KEEP IN MIND THAT I AM YOUNG, AND NOT A FORD GUY (ALTHOUGH I AM EXTREMELY PASSIONATE ABOUT CLASSIC CARS OF ALL KINDS) THAT IS ATTEMPTING TO CREATE A REAL MEAN MUSTANG. Do you think I am doing a good job?

Thank you! It has been a LONG road I have traveled down just to get it to where it is. It had a lot of things missing, broken, cut up and modified. It was a supercharged drag car, the floors and bottom end were gone. I knew it was going to be hard taking something that once was on the street legally back to the street again, except that I didn't realize just how much work was honestly needed. I am doing the wiring on the car now, new Painless harness that is not exactly "Painless" and I can honestly say that it is the least section of the restoration I have to do. Once the electrical is in and done, I can start installing my interior and everything SHOULD work like clockwork....hopefully. I have to have the car done this year, and it will be a stretch but it must be done.

I'm impressed! Wish I was that talented when I was young. BEAUTIFUL. Happy you like at least one style of Mustang.
Thank you! The Discovery Channel contacted me back in 2011 about wanting to use my 1970 in some shows granted that my car was finished. I really fought hard to get it there but then I had to give up as I was not going to compromise the restoration where it would be seen by millions of people. IF my car was to be on national television, then I wanted it done the right way, the first time. So I have taken my time to make sure that everything is done right. I was shocked they wanted MY car. I am just a 21 year old kid. Well the truth is now that I own my car, I am starting to like all mustangs.

Thank you, it is not easy doing a restoration to the extent that I am and be a full time college student and work. Many of my buddies have given up their project cars as they couldn't handle it. I don't know if that makes me tough or an idiot for holding on to my basket case. In the end I will have invested enough to buy a new Corvette...or a newer C6.
I'm happy to hear you may start liking some other 'Stangs, Brandon. That Discovery Channel gig sounded good. I would have watched it. But, happy you didn't rush it. Shows maturity on your part. Nice to see that. ENJOY. I see a FASTBACK in your future.
