Mustang Car Covers- Why You Should Go With Water Repellent, NOT Waterproof

Looking to buy a cover for your Mustang? Are you in the market for something you’re going to use outdoors that will keep your car dry? Here’s why you should buy a water-repellent cover instead of a water-proof cover.

All of our outdoor Covercraft Car Covers are water repellent, or hydrophobic, meaning designed to shed water. Our covers are water- repellent, yet still breathable, meaning the material allows any heat or interior moisture to evaporate out from underneath. A breathable, water repellent cover always allows air circulation under the cover and reduces heat build up on hot days. This is especially important if you live in a humid area.

A waterproof cover can actually trap moisture against your paint. When water evaporates off the ground, it can get under your cover, and if your cover is waterproof, it cannot escape. This can lead to your Mustang's paint job being ruined!

For this reason you should always make sure to go with a cover that is water repellent, yet breathable. Our covers are not only breathable, but Made in the USA by Covercraft. Covercraft is an industry leading manufacturer and their covers are extremely high quality. Go with a Mustang car cover from Covers Direct for a promise of not only breathability, but ultimate satisfaction.

I've had the Evolution cover before and it works as advertised. I currently have the WeatherShield and not as happy with it as the material is very light and billows and eventually blows off even in mild winds. In addition to the front and rear elastic, I use the tie off grommets in the middle with a heavy nylon rope. All of my covers have been custom fit and my Evo cover stayed on my Cobra Jet Grande even during a hurricane!
You're right about waterproof, they hold in moisture as well as they keep it out, and it eventually bake onto the paint. Not pretty.
Another tidbit. Do not have a cover on a car while trailering the car. The wind buffets the cover and will rub off the paint.

    Cool Stormweave from California Covers

Unfortunately my 2008 GT is parked outside. I use the Stormweave from California Covers. I just purchase a custom made cover from EXHail to protect me from those Texas hail storms. They advertising protection from baseball size hail.

    What's the website for EXHail?

The Evolution is actually our most popular cover. I'm glad you liked that one!
The Weathershield HP is the best material for water repellency, but the fact that its so lightweight can make it very hard to handle in the wind.
You are correct about trailering as well- you wouldn't want to do that with a car cover.

Member 90-7UP- I believe this is the website you are looking for:
