    Cool Shelby to Boss LS

Well did I make a big jump this past saturday,
I've owned a 07 Shelby GT500 / 575HP - 505 to real wheel plus loads more of good stuff and then I got a inch again and started looking at pre-owned Boss 302's,
the dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse,
sweet amount for my 07 with 19,000 miles on it site unseen and drive out sticker price on a brand new Boss 302 Laguna SECA, man was my wife pissed!
no explaining how rare of a deal this was to appease her
oh well she loves me and will get over it!

well it's been 5 weeks now,
got a 1000 miles on the car

    lost the baffles,
added Tint and put the new MCA sticker over the "Rock" hole in the windshield that I got the other day, same day I got my MCA package!

on well! thank god for a very expensive extended warranty package!

I was or still am a member of the Slick 60's club of American with the 66 F100 I built myself from ground up, after 10 years I let her go to a great organization so they could use for promotional use,
I mastered the web site posting pictures there,

I'm still working on regaining my ability here to post.

I hope to have some awesome pics posted soon

Insurance coverage for the windshield or engine/car warranty. If you speaking of car warranty--sorry but
NOT for long. Are you going to activate the Red Key????? With all respect--totally crazy (and a total waste of the car) to run around with a Laguna on standard Silver key programming.... Not sure what the dealer told you but the Red Key is not factory enabled: gotta buy the program from Ford Racing via your dealer ($302 msrp) and then pay for install (1-1.5 hrs of tech time)

I presume you are unaware that in activating the Red key you LOSE your factory engine warranty (5 yrs/60k)--it is replaced by a Ford Racing engine warranty. Same coverage but for a shorter periods...3 yrs- 36k miles (matches the bumper to bumper warranty). AND activating the Red Key terminates any and all extended warranties-especially Ford ESP. Ford has told its dealers NOT to sell ESP to Boss buyers who will activate the Red Key but many seem to have missed the message. If you have activated or will activate your Red Key contact your dealer ASAP and get your money back for the extended warranty.

Good luck with the divorce (only a matter of time).

well the dealer did not get into detail, or should I say the 26 year old sales person!

regarding the activation and voiding a warrenty!
But I have not activated the key
nor have I even stuck it in the igition!

great info, that I did not know,
I really did not care about this "Unleasing the Track Option"

I'll be speaking to the President of Team Quick Silver
the other guy I know who has one!

    he started his own club,
    I'm Vise President,
well there is only the two of us,
4 if you count his wife and kid!
rules are, there are no rules!
Must not really give a crap,
Bring Beer when you come by the house
and never! ask me for one of my Cohiba's!

and will forward over to my contact at Ford Corporate

    Especially the part regarding

NOT to sell ESP to Boss buyers

so far I got "Knews to me"
I will ask around and let you know!

Check over on the Boss 302 forums...they ran the issue up the chain with Ford...many (dealers) are totally clueless but all had to issue full refunds on the ESP contracts. The Ford ESP contract specifically disqualifies any car with an aftermarket tune--which the Red Key is. Yeah by
Ford but by Ford Racing after purchase and thus the Ford Racing warranty replacing the stock warranty on the engine/drivetrain.

This is also the reason you cannot install the Red Key programing until after you legally own the car and have taken "lawful delivery". Lawful means signing the paperwork...Mine went from showroom floor to the gas station (I had left and dealership owner did it) for a tank of 91 gas to the service bay for programing install. The Boss can go 87 or 91 gas BUT once the Red Key is involved ya gotta run 91 due to the change in timing.

Using your Red key right now is not an issue...unless the program is installed. Until then the Red key is exactly like the Silver key and the computer doesn't know the difference. The Red Key programming in NOT in/on the car nor stored in the key...the Ford dealer has to buy it (gets a code that allows the download and stickers for the car are mailed to you by Ford Racing--engine bay smog sticker for the aftermarket program tune with instructions as to where to place it and a 91 only gas door sticker)

As to driving--yeah, there is a huge difference with the Red Key. Programming is really changed..didn't believe it at first until I made several test runs with mine going back and forth between the keys. The biggest 'clue" is the slighly loopy idle with the Red Key.

    Have fun.
