I'm a new member. Is the 50th party still on for Las Vegas & Charlotte April 16-20, 2014?

Hi Peter, first of all welcome to the club. I hope you enjoy the club as much as my husband and I do. Yes the 50th is still going on in both cities. We hope you can make it to either one of them. We went to the 45th and had a good time. It was amazing how many people we meet not only from other states but from other countries. The show was great.

Hey Peter! Welcome to the MCA. I am sure that you will be overly impressed with what the MCA does and especially for the upcoming 50th Birthday Celebration! Yes, celebrations for both Vegas and Charlotte are ON! As one of the people involved in some of the planning for both locations, I can assure you that we are well on our way with some of the first phases of the celebration starting with the pony drives to both cities in April of 2014. You have a choice of either pony drive which will start in Norman OK and then proceed west to Vegas or east to Charlotte.

When will information be out on Pony drives and both events (Cities, Hotels, etc) ? I want to start making reservations and travel plans ASAP. I am sure lots of people are interested in this info, and as we know; Time flies and it will be 2014 before we know it.

As of now, there are 3 cities going west to Vegas that will be the overnight locations on the way to the celebration.
As we are still in some planning stages for events at those cities, that information will be released once we finalize some details. The same goes for the route to Charlotte. Three cities, 3 night time events. Depending on time and weather, there will be some 'off interstate' events as the convoy's proceed between the host cities. We are planning on a Route 66 diversion outside of Kirkman AZ and a possible 'tail of the dragon' diversion in NC/TN.
We hope to have the information posted on a dedicated website by mid April.

What are the actual dates for the Las Vegas 50th Anniversary celebration?

The dates will be April 16th to April 20th (Same with Charlotte).
The MAIN pony drives from OK to Vegas and Charlotte depart on Sunday the 13th and are 'expected' to arrive on Wednesday the 16th.
Pony drives to OK will depart from various locations throughout the country and will be posted on the Pony Drive website once that is up and running.

I think having 2 sites is great. I beleive that there will unbeleivable traffic if limited to one place. Will be my first event and I'm looking forward to it.

Have you considered entering an MCA national show this year? Depending on where you live, this would be a great opportunity to get a good feel for the MCA and how a national show will be a much smaller version of what the 50th will be like. Plus, if the MCA sticks to the original plan, any car that takes a trophy in 2013 at a national show will be eligible for a special trophy if you attend either one of the 50th events.

We still have 90 spaces open for our Asheville national show in July.
