    2011 MCA mustang

We just bought the 2011 MCA edition of the mustang, and I love it. I have a few questions about the vinyl striping. It is matte black. There is three lines of where I think the rain dripped from the driver side handle. Can I clean that somehow? Also, we just bought it last Sat. I want to wash and wax it, but don't know what to do about the stripes. I called the dealer, and they said "Do Not" wax the stripes. How do I keep them from drying out, fading, and cracking in the Florida sun? Thank you.

Well . . . I've had my 2011 MCA Edition since June 8th and have waxed the car 3 times now, including the stripes. So far I see no problem or issue with the stripe. I understand that there may be an update stripe with MCA Edition somewhere on it issued sometime after January 1 2011 (for the 2012 model) and if that comes out, i will buy and replace the stripe that came with the car. I think its a **** shame that this "special edition" has no identifying marks. we've over 8,000 miles on ours and love it!

Thanks Doug. I appreciate the response. I have had the car for only 3 weeks, and I love it. I just don't want to ruin the stripes.

2012 Build starts 1/17/2011. The "New" MCA Stripe, will be made avail to the 2011 MCA Edition Original Purchases, and will/can be a Dealer Install. You will get a replacement Fender Stripe, where the MCA will replace the word Mustang. They are to be avail, soon after the 2012 start production. There will be a release on these, but you will have to request it.

On a side note, further down the line, you may NOT want the new striping on your 2011, as it will most likely be a deduction at Judging, as not period correct. Soooo, careful what you ask for. IMHO

Our ordered 2011 MCA has a build date of 1/7/2011 and ETA of 1/27, so will it still have the orignal set? Are there any photos of the revised MCA stripes? Is it too early to request the revised stripes from the ordering dealer? Thanks.

I have been using Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax on my California Special stripes with no problem.

Dave, Has any information been released about obtaining the revised stripes? We recently took delivery of our 2011 MCA that was built 1/7. Below is a photo.

Gawd, that is GORGEOUS!!! The new lettering should be avail by mid Feb. to those who have the 2011. The fender stripe appears NOT to have to be replaced. But rather, an additional piece will be supplied for application below it. "Club of America", looks to be the "fix" from FORD. Cheap SOB's. We were ALL led to believe the Stripe itself would be revamped for the 2012. But alas, that would have cost them $$$$$.

Gotta tell ya though, one more production delay, and I/m cancelling my 2012 order, and taking a 2011 they sitting and calling my name.

Thanks, my wife is thrilled with her new pony! Your Lava Red 2012 will also look GORGEOUS!!, when it's built. I know the waiting is hard, especially with the incentives on the 2011's. I joined MCA and purchased our new 2011 MCA at X-Plan, plus recieved a total of $2250 in rebates, which includes the $750 private cash coupon we got in the 2011 Mustang brochure. What a deal!! But we had to order to our specifications, because an equivalent pony couldn't be found. We ordered this one back on 10/26/2010 with Automatic, 3.31 axle, HIDs, Comfort Package and Security Package, and it was built 1/7/2011. Ford "protected our $750 private cash coupon by extending its expiration to 3/1/2011, which is possible if you have ordered and the name on the order matches what's printed on the coupon.

As you can see from the photo, I installed a pedestal spoiler already and I will be installing the Magnaflow Street Series Axleback and GT/CS rear fascia this weekend. Here's what the rear view looks like now.
