The only Bullitt Mustangs produced were in 2001, 2008, and 2009. However the Mustang from the movie Bullitt was a 68 GT 390 Fastback.

Hey GrabberMustang,,,when you watch the '68 Bullitt movie, with Steve McQueen,I don't know if you noticed all the oddities of the movie, like the drivers side mirror being there in one scene, then no D.S. mirror in another scene. The Dodge losing like 5-7 hubcaps in the chase. In the finale of the chase scene, when the Dodge wrecks, you can actually see where the Mustang and Dodge are connected, then come loose from each other at the last second. Google IMDB(internet Movie Data Base), Search "Bullitt", then you can scroll down to see lots more goofs.

It's pretty interesting to the movie buff, especially the "Bullitt" movie buff.

I didn't know there was an 09 bullit. I think they produced 7000 in 08, how many were produced in 09 and what's the difference between the 08 and the 09?

Richie, thanks for the cool bits of info! I love random facts about the history of the Mustang itself but didn't realize there were so many in the movie Bullitt. Can never see that movie too many times so will have to watch it again to try to spot some of those.

John, there was a lot of demand from the 2008 so they decided to bring it back for another run. Don't want to say any numbers on production since I'm not sure. However, I think there were much less 09's produced then there was in 08. May want to check with the IMBOC for more info.

Thanks for the response. Online I can't find any difference between the 08 and the 09. Does anyone out there know if there is any difference between the 08 bullitt and the 09 bullitt?

Yea, honestly I don't think there is a difference. Obviously the 08 was the 40th anniversary of the Bullitt but the 09 was the 45th anniversary of the Mustang. However, since Bullitts are known for their no badging the 09 did not sport the 45th anniversary emblems. Therefore you really will be hard pressed to find a difference unless its a slight adjustment made across the board in 2009.

The only thing I have found that I know could be different is that the 2009 came standard with sirius radio which was new for 2009. But it was an option in 2008.

I owned an 01 bullitt and loved it. I wished I never would have sold it but I did and now I am looking for an 08 or 09 to buy. Does the IMBOC allow ads for sale?
