    Shelby Buyers Be Ware

The warranty from Ford is voided due to the application of the Ford Racing performance packages. If you do purchase such a vehicle, make sure the dealer gives you a copy of the limited warranty statement. Per Ford:
    FORD RACING LIMITED WARRANTY STATEMENT

    WARNING NOTICE

Ford Racing Parts are not Genuine Ford Parts. All Ford Racing Parts are aftermarket parts. Therefore, they may not be used in any application that requires the use of Genuine Ford Parts. The use of Ford Racing parts and components may impact the performance characteristics of other systems of the vehicle. When operating properly, Ford Racing parts and components have the potential to adversely impact other systems of the vehicle. Except as set forth below, such damage is the sole responsibility of the consumer and is not covered by this Limited Warranty.

I have a 2008 Shelby Mustang with 17,000 miles. As the temperature dropped in December, I heard a very load squeaking noise in the front and rear especially when going over bumps and rough roads. People outside commented about the sounds as did those who rode in the car with me. The noise continued to get louder. I took it to my local Ford dealer. They kept the car to determine the cause of the squeaks. They contacted me and said the sway bar mount bushings needed replacing. They said it should be covered under warranty. However, when the Service Manager contacted Ford Motor about the warranty, he was referred to Ford Performance Group. He was told that such squeaks are not covered under the warranty due to the performance handling application. I had to pay the full cost of parts and labor to get the bushings replaced.

Sadly, the whole problem probably could have been solved by anyone with a metric socket set and a tube of silicone lube. Urethane bushings often squeak if they get dry.

That is completely normal for those bushings. You got ripped off. As Wythors said, lube was all you needed.
I lube mine about every 3 months.
