DEARBORN Ė Ford Motor Company announced that Dave Pericak will be leaving his role as Global Director of Ford Performance to become the Engineering Director of North American Unibody Applications, effective December 1.

In his new role, Pericak will be responsible for engineering delivery in support of all North American Unibody programs. He will stay in his current role with Ford Performance through the next month to oversee the remainder of World Endurance Championship and NASCAR playoffs.

Pericak took on the role as director of Fordís performance division upon its creation three years ago. During his tenure, Ford Performance developed new Ford GT race cars that had global success, highlighted by the GTE-Pro class win for the No. 68 Ford GT at the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2016. Combining engineering and technology resources between racing and product development, Ford Performance successfully launched all-new production models including the Shelby GT350/R Mustang, Focus RS, F-150 Raptor and Ford GT road car.

"It's always hard to leave something that you have led the creation and development of, like Ford Performance, but it's the right thing for the company and for me right now. The timing with Dec. 1 was specific because we are committed to helping our NASCAR and WEC teams win championships this year and we are all-in to do just that.

"Part of the original plan was for us to rotate people in and out of Ford Performance to take those things we learn in racing back into Ford mainstream engineering, and that goes for me too. So I look forward to the challenges ahead, but really want to help Ford win a few more championships this coming month."

Replacing Pericak will be Mark Rushbrook, who will serve as the Ford Performance Motorsports Global Director in charge of Fordís racing efforts, and Hermann Salenbauch who will now oversee Ford Performance production vehicles.
